Urology Treatments
Following your urinary health diagnosis, our goal is to find the least invasive treatment that meets your needs — whether that’s a lifestyle change, medication or minimally invasive surgery.
Treatments We Offer
Depending on your urological condition, our urologists are equipped to offer a variety of treatment options, including:
- Behavioral management for stress urinary incontinence
- Biofeedback therapy for urinary and bowel incontinence
- Botox injections for bladder dysfunction
- Complete urologic cancer care, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy
- Mild electrical stimulation for overactive bladder
- Pelvic muscle exercises for urinary urge incontinence
Procedures
- Lithotripsy for stones: This procedure involves fragmenting calculi, such as kidney stones. This can be accomplished with a laser or shock wave therapy depending on various factors that you can speak to your doctor about.
- Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP): This surgical procedure is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This typically requires an overnight stay at the hospital, but we do offer an outpatient procedure.
- UroLift: This minimally invasive procedure is used to treat BPH and offers rapid relief without cutting or heating the prostate tissue.
Surgery at University Health
There’s no one-size-fits-all treatment for any urologic condition, so we’re here to help you find the right solution for your diagnosis.
If surgery is the best solution for you, you’re in good hands. Our fellowship-trained surgeon offers a full range of advanced urologic procedures and minimally invasive surgical options.
