Institute for Public Health

The Institute for Public Health is leading the way to improve the good health of our community by eliminating health disparities and achieving health equity in Bexar County. Our mission is to promote health, prevent disease and prolong life.

We are guided by our values:

  • We build trust through kind and compassionate care that is trauma-informed and culturally appropriate.
  • We invest in and implement data-driven, community-centered solutions.
  • We pursue opportunities to contribute what we are learning to the evidence base.

The Institute aligns and coordinates how University Health addresses community needs and helps patients achieve optimal health. We serve as a hub, connecting community members with tools they can use.
