The University Health Cardiovascular Center is proud to expand its services to the Texas Diabetes Institute and form the Limb Salvage Clinic — one of the few of its kind in Texas.
What is Limb Salvage?
Conditions like diabetes and vascular disease can limit blood flow and cause foot wounds that don’t heal. Without the proper treatment, these problems can lead to amputation.
The specialists at the University Health Limb Salvage Clinic at Texas Diabetes Institute work together to protect the quality of life of our patients by preserving their mobility and preventing limb amputation.
Advanced, Non-Surgical Treatments
We offer advanced, nonsurgical treatments to give our patients the best chance at recovery without major surgery.
Our interventional cardiologists collaborate with the podiatrists at Texas Diabetes Institute, focusing on minimally invasive procedures and advanced wound care techniques that restore circulation and support healing.
Surgery, including bypass or amputation, is only considered when limb preservation is no longer possible.
Why Choose University Health
As part of the Texas Diabetes Institute, our Limb Salvage Clinic provides access to the latest technologies, treatment options and research related to diabetes care.
In addition to our unique partnership between interventional cardiology and podiatry, our multidisciplinary approach expands to vascular surgery, wound care and other specialties.
We also connect patients to hyperbaric oxygen therapy to support healing when needed.
