“I strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for the women of South Texas.”
I am the inaugural medical director of the University Health Women’s Heart Center, where our goal is to provide exceptional heart care for women in all stages of life. I also serve as the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging at University Health.
Areas of Interest
I specialize in cardio-obstetrics, which is the comprehensive care of heart conditions during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Professional History
My medical journey began at Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary, where I earned my MD degree in 1996. I completed my internal medicine residency at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in heart failure at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and general cardiology fellowship training and Level III adult echocardiography at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I completed my Cardiac MRI training at Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center in Durham and my Cardiac CT training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
Over the course of my career, I have held academic appointments at UTMB Galveston and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. At Baylor, I developed a Women’s Center promoting comprehensive, evidence-based care. After joining UT Health San Antonio in 2011, I founded the Women’s Comprehensive Health Institute at the Medical Arts and Research Center.
Philosophy of Care
As a cardiologist, my goal is to deliver accurate diagnoses and personalized care, helping patients better understand their health conditions and facilitate shared decision making about their future cardiovascular care. That is why my practice incorporates evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Hobbies
When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking with my family, listening to classical music and playing piano.
