What Is Supportive Care?

Supportive care is special medical care for people with serious illnesses. Pediatric supportive care is focused on helping patients manage the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness — whatever the diagnosis.

We also provide supportive care for infants.

Our Goal

The goal is to improve quality of life for patients and families. Supportive care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses and other specialists who work with the patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. Supportive care can be started at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be given at the same time as other treatments.

We also provide complex care for children with multiple complex medical conditions.
