About
I joined the UT Health San Antonio and University Health faculty in 1980. I hold the rank of professor and the Humana Foundation Distinguished Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in 1977 and concluded my residency training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health, Pregnancy Research Branch, in 1982.
Career Highlights
I was the chief of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility from 1986 until 2002. I was chair of the department from 2002-2016. I was the president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in 2005 and served as a director of The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I am certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
