I am a pediatrician at University Health. I earned my medical degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheba, Israel.
I have wanted to be a pediatrician since I was a young child myself and always hoped to truly be able to help children thrive.
Growing up in Colombia, I quickly learned that lack of access to care takes a toll on children's opportunities and success. I wanted to be a part in reducing the gap and helping all children succeed by ensuring their health was protected.
Philosophy of Care
I believe in wholesome care and that to be a good pediatrician I must protect all aspects of a child's life. That includes the health and well-being of their parents, siblings and all those caring for them. As well as their emotional and mental health, living conditions, access to education, extracurricular opportunities and food safety.
Furthermore, I believe all children deserve equal opportunities and that this equality must be protected from a young age and it must not be taken for granted.
My favorite things about practicing medicine
  • Developing relationships and getting babies, children and teens to trust me and enjoy coming to their doctor.
  • I love teaching children and teenagers of all ages to love themselves, to want to take care of their bodies and their minds and to, from a young age, believe in their potential.
  • I love seeing my patients grow and achieve all their milestones. Whether it’s their first steps or words or celebrating their quinceañera or high school graduation; it’s one of my greatest joys to be able to witness their growth and achievements.
  • Getting to care for the whole family. While I only see children, I enjoy developing long lasting relationships with parents and all other caregivers at every visit.
  • I enjoy being able to educate patients and families on the science behind the care we give them so they can develop ownership and make educated decisions on their own care and bodies.
