US News names University Health among best in country for maternity care

University Health has again been named a Best Hospital for Maternity 2026 by U.S. News & World Report. This distinction recognizes our pregnancy and childbirth team for their high-performing care with uncomplicated pregnancies.

Along with University Health’s Level IV designations for its neonatal intensive care unit and maternity center, the award signifies its ability to provide comprehensive patient care for the highest-risk obstetric patients.

Our providers perform fewer Cesarean sections, fewer early deliveries and see fewer newborn complications than other hospitals.

The annual U.S. News & World Report evaluation of maternity care helps assist expectant parents and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive maternity care. The evaluation’s methodology is based entirely on objective measures of quality, such as C-section rates in lower-risk pregnancies, newborn complication rates, exclusive breast milk feeding rates, early elective delivery rates and vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) rates, among other measures.

From the beginning, U.S. News has based its evaluation of labor and delivery services on objective data collected from hospitals. In 2025, a record number of 899 hospitals submitted data via the annual Maternity Services Survey.
