University Health System President/CEO Receives Statewide Service Award
University Health System President/CEO George B. Hernández, Jr. has been honored by the Texas Council for Community MHMR for his long-standing commitment to serving those most in need. Hernández received the 2009 Frank M. Adams Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service at the Council’s annual conference earlier this summer. “His untiring spirit of giving inspires others to leverage their resources for strategic partnerships as he continues to influence policies that will benefit consumers towards a better quality of life for many years to come,” wrote The Center for Health Care Services in its nomination for Hernández, citing his successful efforts to integrate primary and mental healthcare services for Bexar County residents with mental disability.
