Annual ceremony kicks off Memorial Day weekend and encourages participation in the act of national unity on Memorial Day
BACKGROUND: As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, University Health System will honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom in a special observance on the Robert B. Green Campus downtown. The ceremony will include a keynote address; along with the laying of a wreath and the playing of taps.
WHO:
Master of Ceremonies: Dr. Byron Hepburn, retired Air Force major general and former commander of the 59th Medical Wing; director of the Military Health Institute at UT Health San Antonio
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Donald Jenkins, retired Air Force trauma surgeon who led the Joint Trauma Theater Trauma System in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Jenkins is a professor of surgery at UT Health San Antonio who practices in University Hospital’s Level I trauma center
