Children with cancer being photographed for holiday portraits

What parent wouldn’t want to find a professional photograph of their child under the holiday tree? And if your child is being treated for cancer, having a donated portrait that focuses on their smile instead of their illness is a gift that brings unmeasurable joy.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m.- noon, a professional photographer working with the non-profit organization Flashes of Hope will capture the spirit of pediatric cancer patients at University Hospital. Makeup and hair stylists will treat the children to a little pampering before they step in front of the camera. Families will receive the donated portraits during the holiday season.

Flashes of Hope has photographed more than 85,000 children with cancer across the United States. Their visits to University Hospital are always cherished by our families and children.
