Answering the call for more health care on the South Side

Grand Opening celebration marks an important milestone in University Health’s historic expansion plan — Much-needed services include behavioral health and urgent care

BACKGROUND: Community leaders will commemorate the opening of University Health Vida, a 3-story, 60,000-sq. ft. multispecialty health center on the far South Side. Located next to University Health Palo Alto Hospital, which is on track to open next year, the Vida health center is open and offering a wide range of health care services that have previously not been available close to home for many South Side residents.

Across from Texas A&M San Antonio, Vida services include:

  • Urgent care 7 days a week
  • Primary and specialty care, including behavioral health for adults and adolescents
  • Pharmacy, imaging and lab testing

Vida is also the new home for University Health’s Institute for Public Health and its innovative “Community Commons” which will bring many nonprofits together on-site to provide services and help address nonmedical drivers of health.

Join us for a short program, refreshments and tours.
