Thriving Texas Families
The Thriving Texas Families Program helps parents who "are facing an unexpected pregnancy" by giving them support and advice. This program makes sure families have everything they need for a healthy pregnancy and baby. Download Spanish PDF.
- Promotes healthy pregnancy and childbirth
- Supports moms who choose to have their baby
- Increases access to resources that promote family and child development
- Encourages families to stay together and support each other
- Teaches parents to implement successful parenting techniques
- Helps families learn to take care of themselves financially
- Provides personalized support to pregnant women to make sure mom feels ready to have her baby
Available Services
The Thriving Texas Families program provides:
- Counseling and mentoring on pregnancy, education, parenting skills, adoption services, life skills and employment readiness topics
- Care coordination for prenatal, perinatal and postnatal services, including connecting parents to health services
- Educational materials and information that teach about having a baby, taking care of a baby and adoption
- Help with referrals that can help with child care, transportation, housing and state and federal benefit programs
Who Is Eligible?
Texas residents and meet one of the following:
- Pregnant woman
- Parent expecting a baby
- Parent with a child who is 3 years old or younger
- An adoptive parent of a child who is 3 years old or younger
- Individuals approved to adopt an unborn child
- Former parents who have lost a child
- Parents or legal guardians of a pregnant minor in the program
- Parent who has had a miscarriage or lost a child within the last 90 days
