Fellowship Director
Greehey Foundation Chair in Pediatric Endocrinology
I am a board certified pediatric endocrinologist at University Health and a professor of pediatrics at UT Health San Antonio. I serve as the Greehey Family Foundation Chair in pediatric endocrinology. My scholarly research is focused on diabetes. I have been the fellowship director for Pediatric Endocrinology since 2006 when I began the fellowship training program. I received a BS at Indiana University and my MD from Wright State University School of Medicine. I completed my residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas and my fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Career Highlights:
I was the Principal Investigator for the NIH funded TODAY, studies, SAFARI study and the Ellipse, Pioneer and Dinamo studies in the past few years. I am PI for the ongoing Bionic Pancreas Clinic Trials, the first of which led to May 2023 approval of the device.
